The State Border Guard Service develops international cooperation
Cooperation with Frontex continues. During 2021, foreign experts who exchange experience with Ukrainian border guards worked and continue their work at the Boryspil and Kyiv (Zhuliany) checkpoints. In particular, specialists act within the framework of the joint operation “Coordination Points”.
Experts are involved in conducting second-line control, operations aimed at countering illegal migration and detecting violators of the state border with invalid, forged and foreign passport documents, as well as patrolling transit zones.
In total, in 2021, about 50 foreign experts visited checkpoints in the area of responsibility of the Kiev checkpoint as part of the operation “Coordination points”.
“Cooperation with Frontex contributes to the establishment of cooperation between the border authorities of the EU Member States and Ukraine, as well as the joint fight against illegal migration and cross-border crime by means of border control. Work with Frontex continues. Currently, more than 10 foreign experts are already working at our checkpoints,” said Major Igor Horenok, assistant chief of the OKPP for international cooperation and border representative work.
