I visited the border line, where a control and track strip and observation towers are equipped.

“High-quality arrangement of the entire border is an issue that we must definitely solve in the next 2 years under the presidential program. We plan to equip Ukrainian-Russian and Ukrainian-Belarusian sections of the border next year. A year later, in 2023, the western border should be built. Today, from a bird's eye view, we had the opportunity to look at the border with Poland. Our task is to plan, get acquainted with how everything is arranged, how it works, and what else needs to be done,” the minister said.

Directly in the border unit, Denis Monastyrsky got acquainted with the procedure for changing the operational duty and the video control complex, which helps to monitor the checkpoint. Separately, the procedure for monitoring border outfits using the JPS-navigation system and proving information in case of situation is demonstrated.

“The Western and Eastern borders are different borders in terms of mood, in terms of tension, but after talking with border guards, the mood is only to protect Ukraine from an external enemy, from the Russian Federation, to build a state border,” Denis Monastyrsky stressed.

He also added that he discussed with the President of Ukraine the issue of raising wages for employees of the State Border Guard Service.

“I am convinced that the burden you carry and the responsibility with which you work on a daily basis should be properly assessed by the state. Of course, not everything will work out immediately, but the political will to arrange the border, to create the right conditions and to provide adequate money is indisputable,” he stressed.

The Minister of Internal Affairs thanked the servicemen for their service and, together with the head of the State Border Guard Service, awarded the medals of border guards of the Lviv border detachment.
