Today, September 9, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrsky awarded 71 employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with orders, medals, departmental honors, and law enforcement officers were awarded honorary titles.
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs congratulated the employees present with awards and thanked for their service.
“Today we have a unique opportunity, on the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's Independence, to congratulate and celebrate the best representatives of the internal affairs system, who properly protect freedom and security in our country. We all know that you work not for recognition and rewards. The saved lives and health of people is the first and most important thing that gives you strength and inspiration in your work,” the minister said.
Denis Monastyrsky noted that, unfortunately, for 30 years of Independence of Ukraine, the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has suffered great losses - 1698 law enforcement officers gave their lives for the integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine. Those present honored the dead with a minute of silence.
“Today, experienced employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs gathered here, who swore allegiance to Ukraine and fulfilled their duty to the people. You have taken great responsibility for serving the Fatherland. I know about every story of heroism, professionalism and dedication. These are people's lives saved. You were not afraid to enter smoky burning rooms. You saved people in the water, in the air and on the ground. For this you are honored by all Ukrainian people, government officials, deputies and people who are here. You really prove that the Ministry of Internal Affairs is the ministry of security of every citizen of Ukraine. With your daily work, you change our life for the better,” the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasized.
The head of the National Police of Ukraine Igor Klymenko congratulated the law enforcement officers with awards and thanked the state leadership, the Minister of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrsky for assessing the joint work of all departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“Each award is a sign that each of you in your service has done everything to glorify your unit. Each of you has done everything to make the colleague who comes into service with you be proud of you and take an example from you. I wish you to serve and be a role model for other employees of our ministry,” he said.
The commander of the National Guard of Ukraine Mykola Balan congratulated the participants on the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's independence and on the occasion of awarding state and departmental honors. He wished those present health, well-being, victory and family comfort.
In turn, the head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Mykola Chechotkin reminded that Ukraine is paying a very high price in the war unleashed by the Russian Federation. He said that in Ukraine there are more than one and a half million temporarily displaced persons, hundreds of thousands of hectares of land planted with explosive objects, and tens of thousands of dead and injured.
“Equally important in this situation, along with external threats, are the internal challenges that you struggle with every day. You are the first to enter the fight against organized crime, eliminate emergencies and fires, guard the border, etc. From myself and the team of rescuers, I want to express words of gratitude for your work, because people like you accelerate our victory and multiply the achievements of our country,” said Nikolai Chechotkin.
