Denis Monastyrsky introduced interim Acting Chairman of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Serhiy Kruk
Today, November 12, the Minister of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrsky introduced the interim acting head of the State Emergency Service Serhiy Kruk, who had previously headed the Main Department of the State Emergency Service in Rivne Oblast.
Denis Monastyrsky thanked Nikolai Chechotkin for fruitful cooperation and noted that during 6 and a half years of his work in the field of the State Emergency Service, a lot of useful and necessary changes were made. According to the Minister of Internal Affairs, the former head of the State Emergency Service led the department in a difficult 2015 year: “You accepted this Service at an extremely difficult time for our state, a crisis, but I see that it was you who brought the SNS to a new level — the level of trust, material and technical renewal, the level of respect for the Service.”
The Minister also expressed confidence that even with the new head, the course of reforms and positive changes in the department will be maintained. According to him, the territorial unit of the State Emergency Service of Rivne region was one of the best in the system, and the experience of Sergey Kruk, who held the position of head for 7 years, will allow to organize work at such a high level in other areas.
The Minister stressed the need to hold a meeting of the SNIS Collegium on the main areas of reform in the near future. First of all, we are talking about reforming approaches. “I would like to see more emphasis on prevention. We have a goal today, with which I came to the post of minister, which is to reduce mortality from emergency situations. This figure is very high, but I think we can reduce it. This requires new approaches, a new vision, as well as new funding for the Service,” said Denis Monastyrsky.
In turn, Sergey Kruk thanked the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the state for their trust and the opportunity to coordinate the activities of one of the most powerful and top-rated Services of Ukraine.
“I am convinced that the heads of the State Emergency Service and units in the regions will fulfill their priority and urgent tasks, and all previous achievements and achievements will be preserved and multiplied. The team of firefighters and rescuers is ready to perform their assigned tasks and will do everything possible to make the State Emergency Service an example in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs,” he said.
