The Ministry of the Interior should become the center of support and protection of business. But this is possible only under the condition of close cooperation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, parliament and entrepreneurs. This was stated by the Minister of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrsky today, September 29, during a meeting with representatives of the Verkhovna Rada and business.

“I see for myself several areas that we need to work on in the fight against the illegal market. It is the detinization of the tobacco, alcohol and fuel market. According to experts, billions of hryvnias are not received by the budget, because most of this market is in the shadows. This is the counteraction to raiding. Also the fight against smuggling and corruption in the law enforcement sector. The fourth point remains the fight against counterfeit products, copyright infringement. This direction greatly affects the non-payment of taxes. We understand that the law enforcement system can send a powerful signal that it is impossible to violate the law,” said Denis Monastyrsky.

The Minister of Internal Affairs stressed that if it is possible to protect the business at the proper level, then it will be possible to attract investment, and this will entail an increase in taxes.

“Then we will be able to ask for a revision of salaries to law enforcement agencies and for an increase in expenses for the needs of the system,” the head of the law enforcement agency noted.

Denis Monastyrsky said that an Office for Business Protection will be created in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for more effective communication in the protection of entrepreneurs.

“I decided to create an Office for Business Protection in the structure of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. It will be coordinated by adviser Anton Gerashchenko. Responsible for business protection will be First Deputy Yevgeny Yenin. From the National Police, the head of the NPU Igor Klymenko and the deputy head of the Main Investigative Department of the NPU Sergey Panteleev will enter the Office. I have total control over the work of this structure,” he said.

In turn, the First Deputy Head of the National Police Mikhail Kuznetsov noted that within three months there will be a real result in the fight against counterfeit, illegal, shadow products in the field of alcohol, tobacco, fuel and food.

Chairman of the TSC of the Verkhovna Rada on the Protection of Investor Rights Galina Yanchenko stressed that the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Verkhovna Rada are open for dialogue.

“Our expectations from today's event are a change in approaches and systems. We are not aware of all the problems that business faces. Therefore, interaction and constant communication are critical,” the MP said.

During the meeting, Minister of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrsky and Chairman of the TSC of the Verkhovna Rada for the Protection of Investor Rights Galina Yanchenko signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

According to the business representative, general director of LLC “LVN Limited” Yuri Sorochinsky, for entrepreneurs, work in the domestic market is a priority. However, the business is faced with the problem of an excessive number of regulations that regulate the manufacture of alcohol products in the state.

“Since 1997, from the level of 5-7% of shadow alcohol, we have reached the level of 50-60%, due to a rather “powerful” system of state regulation,” said Yuriy Sorochynsky.

Also, among other issues that have been the subject of discussion - smuggling of goods, bureaucratic barriers, anti-raiding, protection of intellectual property, transparency of public procurement.
