A militant with numerous “awards” was detained by border guards at the administrative border with Crimea
Yesterday, at the Kalanchak entry-exit checkpoint, border guards found a citizen of Ukraine, who is part of the so-called “Union of Veterans of Freedom Regiment of the People's Militia of the Republic of Crimea”.
Born in 1957, the man was on his way from the temporarily occupied Crimea to the mainland of Ukraine.
During the inspection of his belongings, the border guards together with customs officers discovered the medals “For Merit to the Fatherhood”, “For the Protection of Crimea”, “5 Years of Crimean Spring”, “Crimean Spring”, which he received in 2014 - 2018, and “certified” by the signatures of the President of the Russian Federation and representatives of the so-called Crimean authorities. In addition, the man had a certificate of a member of the so-called Crimean regional public organization “Union of veterans of the freedom regiment of the People's Militia of the Republic of Crimea”.
During the inspection, border guards found out that the citizen took an active part in the activities of illegal armed formations on the territory of TOTU AR Crimea, riots and attacks in order to seize enterprises, institutions and state organizations.
On the fact of identifying signs of a criminal offense, provided for in Art. 260 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Creation of paramilitary or armed formations not provided for by law”, the border guards informed the representatives of the National Police and handed over the “militia” to the law enforcement officers.
