Today we will show you how tactical exercises with combat shooting of artillery of a separate special purpose detachment “Azov” of the 12th operational brigade took place! The field trip of the “Azov” lasted from 1 to 18 June at the training ground near Mariupol.
“This is a planned field release of artillery,” says the deputy commander of the Armed Forces for the use of artillery, friend Bilotur. - The purpose of the event is to work out the actions of artillery batteries in the defense. improvement of methodological skills of unit commanders, improvement of the level of field training of personnel and coherence in actions”.
During the release, a variety of battery exercises were worked out. The end was the conduct of command and staff training with combat shooting. On the first day there were day and night firing of barrel artillery units, on the second - by consolidated mortar units.
“The units practiced firing on certain targets by firing by the method of conjugated observation, as well as such a fire control element as shooting a rapper and transferring fire from the belt pen on target. Rapper is a term that means a point on the terrain at which an artillery unit is fired upon. The results of this shooting are then used to transfer the fire to another target,” Bilotur explains. “On the second day, the mortar batteries were working. All units successfully coped with the tasks set by the leadership, fully complied with the prescribed standards and showed good training.” Field missions of artillery units of the Eastern Operational-Territorial Purpose take place twice a year and have great practical value in the field of counteracting the “hybrid”
