Children's safety is a priority of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system — Denis Monastyrsky
This was announced today, September 3, by the Minister of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrsky during an interactive lesson on the observance of traffic rules and safe behavior on the street with students of the Specialized School of I-III degrees with in-depth study of English No. 15 of the city of Kiev.
The bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs pay great attention to preventive activities to create a safe environment on the roads of Ukraine. Therefore, from September 1 to 10, almost 200 school police officers in 37 cities of the country will conduct such interactive training for schoolchildren within the framework of the All-Ukrainian action of the Ministry of Internal Affairs “Knowledge Day”.
Denis Monastyrsky reported that according to statistics, about 4 thousand children are injured on the roads of Ukraine every year, and about 160 small citizens die.
“Creating a safe environment on the road is a priority of the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Attention on the road, the correct crossing of the road in the established place, the use of seat belts - these simple basic rules allow road users to avoid difficult situations. Therefore, I emphasize the importance of strictly observing the Rules of the Road”, - said Denis Monastyrsky.
The students were very open and active during the class, enthusiastically told the Minister about the importance of complying with the Rules of the Road and even made their suggestions for improving the safety situation on the roads. Denis Monastyrsky presented the students with tokens and certificates of “young law enforcement officer”.
The event was also attended by school police officers who told the children about the specifics of their work and presented books on road safety and reflective tapes that make a small pedestrian visible in the dark. In addition, patrol police conducted competitions for knowledge of traffic rules and allowed the child to sit in official cars.
