Air Ministry of Internal Affairs: 26 French Airbus helicopters are scheduled to be delivered by the end of 2021
This became known during the meeting of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov with the delegation of Airbus Group. The event was also attended by the General Director of “Ukroboronprom” Yuriy Gusev, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.
The parties discussed progress in the implementation of the contract between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Airbus Helicopters for the supply of 55 helicopters, as well as prospects for expanding cooperation.
“Given the increase in the number of aircraft equipment coming from the manufacturer, the Ministry of Internal Affairs plans to actively deploy the Airbus Helicopters maintenance and repair system in Ukraine. The center of technical support will be the city of Nizhyn, Chernihiv region. In the future, this site will serve helicopters and our European partners,” Arsen Avakov said.
In turn, the French partners announced changes in the delivery schedule of helicopters for 2021-2022. It is planned to deliver 26 helicopters in 2021 and 18 in 2022.
The delegation of Airbus Group also noted that currently in the training center of the Kremenchuk Flight College of the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, a flight simulator-flight simulator (FFS) of the H225 helicopter is being installed for training aviation personnel. Completion of installation and start of operation is scheduled for August 2021.
Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko noted that the successful experience of cooperation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with French aircraft builders interested in the involvement of Airbus Group in the implementation of the presidential initiative to create a national air carrier.
For reference: 13 helicopters from the French manufacturer have already received 13 helicopters to the Unified Aviation Security System of the Ministry of Internal Affairs:
- 2 type H125 for DPSU; - 2 type H145 for NPU;
- 9 type H225 (6 for SNSS, 3 for NGU)
The coordination procedures for the supply of 2 H145 helicopters to NPU are currently being completed.
Recall that recently, the SNSS received the sixth helicopter H225 Super Puma.
We will also remind that since April 1, the helicopter of the State Emergency Service has been on permanent duty in Lviv region to provide emergency assistance to the population of six western regions. Only in the first month of work it was possible to save seven citizens who needed urgent medical care.
