Aviation of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine returned from the Republic of Turkey

On August 15, the Ukrainian SNS airmen returned from the Republic of Turkey, where they provided assistance in extinguishing large-scale forest fires.

Two AN-32P aircraft landed at the airfield of the Special Aviation Detachment of the Operational Rescue Service of the Civil Protection of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the city. Nizhyn. Earlier, on the way from Turkey to Nizhyn, the border guards of the Odessa detachment at the airfield “Shkolny” issued two DSNS aircraft in priority order.

The head of the State Emergency Service Nikolai Chechotkin met the crews. He congratulated the rescuers on their return and noted that all of Ukraine is proud of them, and the citizens of Turkey will always be grateful to them for their invaluable help and saved homes.

“More than two weeks ago, you went to help Turkey, which suffered from large-scale forest fires. The beautiful country was engulfed in flames, people were losing their homes. In this difficult time, our country united with the whole world and extended a helping hand to the Turkish people. Thank you for returning home safe and sound,” said Nikolai Chechotkin.

Recall that Ukraine sent two AN-32P aircraft of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine to help the Republic of Turkey on July 30. In total, 124 water discharges (992 tons) have been made on fire hotspots since the beginning of the work. Aircraft operated near the provinces of Antalya and Isparta.
