Arsen Avakov: In six years, the personnel of the National Police has changed by 40%
Currently, the average age of a police officer is 36 years old. This was announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov today, July 4, congratulating the National Police on the day of creation.
“Six years ago, we started the creation of the National Police of Ukraine as a fundamentally new, high-tech, human-friendly, modern police service. This is an extremely difficult task — to build a new one on the basis of the old, extremely unbalanced system, keeping the balance, without losing efficiency, preserving the experience of real specialists”, - said Arsen Avakov.
The Minister also reported the results of the work of the police. In particular, for six years of existence of the National Police of Ukraine:
- processed more than 47 million citizen calls;
- more than 562 thousand crimes were discovered;
- almost 10 thousand special operations of the special unit KORD were carried out and 129 hostages were released;
- the activities of more than 1400 criminal groups and organizations have been suspended;
- 23 tons of drugs with a total value of 11 billion hryvnias were seized;
- more than 30 thousand cybercrimes have been exposed;
- seized more than 38 thousand units of weapons and 9 tons of explosives;
- more than 66 thousand children were searched and returned to their parents;
- security was ensured during more than 360 thousand mass events, in which about 100 million citizens took part.
“Many ambitious tasks have already been completed, now we are implementing an important project to form a single safe space for territorial communities. The project “Community Police Officer” has already been implemented in 279 communities, the level of trust in them is 70%,” Arsen Avakov said.
According to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 56 thousand police officers served in the ATO/OAS zone.
“I want to congratulate the boys and girls who have chosen for themselves a difficult and worthy life's work — to serve the law and protect the human being! They are on guard every day, at risk every day, on the front lines of the war: with the aggressor enemy of the Russian Federation, and with internal enemies. Where it is difficult, they are the first!”, - said Arsen Avakov.
