Arsen Avakov: The technical equipment of the State Emergency Service and the training of personnel in recent years have improved several times
More than 630 rescuers, 65 units of special and aviation equipment, emergency situations in several locations at once are all special training on the integrated use of ground and air forces of the State Emergency Service (Mi-8 helicopters, H-225 Airbus, An-32P fire planes).
Today, June 4, large-scale training of all units of the SNS - rescuers, sappers, aviators, dog handlers and psychologists - took place on the basis of the Interregional Rapid Response Center of the State Emergency Service, located in the city of Romny, Sumy region.
Interior Minister Arsen Avakov said that over several years, the technical equipment of rescuers, training and methods of overcoming emergency situations have improved several times.
“Every year we are going to a comprehensive training, to which we involve all units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Today it was training on the basis of the State Emergency Service. I want everyone to see how we have strengthened in recent years, what technique we use. We attract airplanes, helicopters, drones, special 8-ton fire engines, dog handlers. When you look at some big fire, a situation with explosions or a terrorist attack, there is always a bustle at the scene of the adventure. The purpose of these exercises is that in the hustle and bustle there is a logic of action, and each service will work it out,” Arsen Avakov said.
In turn, the head of the State Emergency Service Nikolai Chechotkin noted that today the personnel also worked out situations that especially often occur in the summer period — forest fires, elimination of the consequences of traffic accidents.
“It is important for us to work out both the practical actions of our rescuers and their interaction with the National Police, the National Guard, forestry and gas farms. I believe that the goal of the exercises has been achieved and the issues have been worked out,” the head of the State Emergency Service said.
According to the legend of the exercises, there was an emergency and a fire. Air and ground reconnaissance arrived in the disaster zone.
The crew of the helicopter carried out the landing of specialists who are supposed to determine the boundaries of the emergency area and adjust the work of the ground forces, which in turn must conduct chemical, radiation reconnaissance, clarify the scale of destruction, and search for the victims.
The mobile response team begins the evacuation of the injured, involving aviation. At the same time, climbing groups continue to carry out rescue work, and canine calculations are found under the rubble of the victims. At the next stage, the units of the SNS deploy the sorting platform of the temporary collection point of the victims and organize work on it by the forces of medical workers and psychologists.
During the exercise, rescuers also worked out a possible scenario for eliminating the consequences of an emergency landing of an aircraft, demining the territory and extinguishing a forest fire, as well as a collision of a train with a bus and a car with a fire and casualties.
