Arsen Avakov held a meeting with the chairmen of the AHs
Today, April 19, in Mariupol, the Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov held a meeting with local authorities and the heads of AHs. Arsen Avakov stressed that the concentration of enemy troops on the border of the state and the escalation of the conflict forces the local authorities to develop an algorithm of interaction between the leadership of the AHs and the population in case of emergency situations.
“Each of you represents your territorial communities and the people who live there. The situation with the escalation of the military conflict affects people and businesses. First of all, we seek peace, and any situation has been resolved diplomatically. But when we are left with no choice, we will defend ourselves. We hope that soon the situation will be resolved and we will all be busy only to improve the standard of living of the population of each AHG,” he said.
In turn, the head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Donetsk region Mykola Semenyshyn noted that despite the proximity of the front, the police of Donetsk region continue to implement security projects.
“According to the strategy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs — the creation of safe environments, according to the results of social studies, the Donetsk police are among the top ten. Thanks to the program of social development, it was possible to restore the material and technical base. In 11 months it was possible to build a new premises of the Mariinsky police station. This is exactly the station where police officers serve on the demarcation line. In addition, security projects have been launched in Mariupol — “Safe House” and “Safe Taxi”, — said Mykola Semenyshyn.
Also at the meeting with the heads of AHs there was a discussion with representatives of local authorities with the participation of deputies of the Verkhovna Rada. The heads of AHs of Donetsk region talked about the implementation of the “Community Police Officer” project, its support by local authorities, as well as about land, environmental and budgetary issues. The Minister, as a member of the Cabinet of Ministers, listened to all the problems faced by the heads of AHs in their daily activities, from salary debts to abandoned property, whose owners are in uncontrolled territory. Arsen Avakov said that he will report on the problems of the community at a meeting of the Government in order to jointly find solutions.
