Arsen Avakov held a telephone conversation with French Minister of Economy and Finance Bruno Le Mer
Today, July 2, at the initiative of the French side, there was a telephone conversation between the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov with the Minister of Economy, Finance and Reconstruction of the French Republic Bruno Le Mer.
The parties discussed the ratification by the Ukrainian parliament of four investment projects between the two states and the official support of these agreements by the French government. We are talking about the renewal of the fleet of freight electric locomotives “Ukrzaliznytsia”, the production and supply of rescue equipment for the needs of the State Emergency Service, as well as two projects to modernize the supply and improve the quality of drinking water in the Luhansk region and the city. During the conversation, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted yesterday's vote in the Verkhovna Rada and the ratification of agreements by all factions — both pro-government and opposition. “The support of 2/3 of Ukrainian deputies to these interstate projects is an unprecedented phenomenon in the history of relations between Ukraine and France, which testifies to the remarkable potential of future Ukrainian-Francoist cooperation,” Arsen Avakov said.
According to the Minister of Internal Affairs, the ratification of the agreements is the result of effective cooperation between the two states at all levels of power. The ministers also discussed joint projects and their implementation with the involvement of French companies and with the support of the French government. In particular, they agreed on another, namely, a project to modernize the supply of quality drinking water in Kharkiv region. “I am convinced that all these initiatives will be no less successful,” Arsen Avakov added.
In turn, Bruno Le Mer praised the effective work of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, noting that the achievement is a good result on the eve of the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Ukraine, which is due to take place soon. Le Mer also invited Arsen Avakov to visit Paris on a working visit for “further cooperation and discussion of practical steps for the implementation of interstate agreements”.
