Andriy Niebitov: Kyiv police managed to prevent a force conflict in the territory of the Stolychnyi market and contribute to the further settlement of the dispute
Around 4 in the morning, reports began to be received on the special line of the police “102” about the seizure of the market by unknown persons and the commission of hooliganism. The investigative and operational group of the Buchansky District Police Department, patrol police response outfits, special officers, explosives, and dialogue police went to the scene.
After the use of firecrackers in the administrative building, the premises were blocked by law enforcement officers, investigative actions took place there, explosives and special agents worked. Law enforcement officers managed to prevent a physical clash between the participants in the conflict, at the same time three police officers were injured. On this fact, criminal proceedings were opened under Part 2 of Article 345 (Threat or violence against a law enforcement officer) and Art. 296 (Hooliganism) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
There were separate provocations on the part of the participants in the conflict, but they were settled in a timely and professional manner by the dialogue police. After the investigative measures, a legal assessment of the actions of all participants in the conflict will be provided.
“For a long time there has been a dispute between business entities regarding the ownership of this administrative building. The police of the Kiev region do not interfere in the commercial process or in the litigation, we only prevent the commission of hooliganism and the infliction of bodily harm. The police will respond to any physical attempts to seize the administrative building or inflict bodily harm, the perpetrators will be brought to justice,” the head of the Kiev police said.
The police of Kyiv region were located on the territory of the Stolychnyi market exclusively to ensure public safety and law order. If any of the parties has the intention to commit hooligan acts, they will certainly be brought to justice.
At present, the police continue to ensure public order and contribute to the settlement of the conflict between business entities, which in order to ensure security and order, it was decided to involve the security police.
