Following these negotiations the Ukrainian party intends to initiate a special meeting on combating criminal activities of "thieves in law" and other criminal bosses. Meanwhile, the representatives of Ukraine will for the first time join the INTERPOL unit on combating organized crime.

The First Deputy Head of the National Police – the Chief of criminal police colonel Vadim Troyan and the Head of the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB) for Ukraine Vasily Nevolya visited the INTERPOL headquarters in Lyon (France).

 

During the working visit they met with Mr.Jürgen Stock,  the Secretary General of INTERPOL.

They discussed the urgent issues of Ukraine's cooperation with INTERPOL and the prospects for futher development and deepening of such cooperation.  Also,  activization of Ukraine's participation in the projects and initiatives of the INTERPOL General Secretariat and in the activities of the Organization as a whole was mentioned.

 

The First Deputy Head of the National Police Vadim Troyan reported that the Ukrainian party will request INTERPOL to convene in Ukraine a meeting on combating activities of "thieves in law" and criminal bosses, etc. Не also informed that the officers of the National Police of Ukraine for the first time will be included in the INTERPOL unit on combating organized crime.

Vadim Troyan and Vasily Nevolya also had the opportunity to get acquainted with the work of the INTERPOL General Secretariat and to meet with heads and experts of its structural units.

To remind: On April 11 police arrested  in Kiev a bandit, who committed several serious crimes in Russia. The man has been wanted by INTERPOL and hid in Ukraine for several years.

A little earlier a meeting of the officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and of the National Police with the Evaluation Commission of the General Secretariat of Interpol was held in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. On the same day the head of MIA Arsen Avakov informed that the General Prosecutors office of Ukraine has declared Yury Ivanyushchenko wanted.

Earlier it was reported that the brothers Serhiy and Andriy Kliuyev and Eduard Stavytskyi remained on the INTERPOL international wanted list.
