On December 8, 2017, the Minister of Internal Affairs held a working meeting with the delegation of the Knesset of the State of Israel.

"The State of Israel has proven to be a reliable partner in the development of a safe environment in Ukraine, and we hope for further fruitful cooperation and mutual understanding," - stressed the Head of MIA.

Arsen Avakov added that the draft agreement on readmission and normalization of the situation when Ukrainian citizens hold Israeli passports has already been prepared.

"At the level of the country's leadership and ministries, we have done a great job to settle the issue of readmission.  Soon, the State Migration Service of Ukraine will send the text of the agreement to the State of Israel via diplomatic channels. We hope that it will be adopted shortly", - informed Arsen Avakov.

Mr. David Amsalem, the Head of the Knesset Committee for Domestic Politics and Environmental Protection, assured that the State of Israel understands the importance of the mission of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine as the main executive body responsible for the formation and implementation of state policy in the field of protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens and combating crime.

"A lot of immigrants from Ukraine live now in Israel, and much of our population do care about the situation in your country. Therefore, good relations with Ukraine and mutual support on the international arena are important for us", - added Mr. Amsalem.

Remember that on September 14, 2017,  the Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov during a meeting with Israeli Interior Minister Aryeh Deri agreed to establish a joint working group, including specialists from the NPU and the SMS, to develop a strategy of law enforcement during the annual pilgrimage of Hasidim to Uman, as well as to solve a number of other issues. One of these issues was the preparation of a bilateral agreement on readmission and normalization of the situation when Ukrainian citizens hold Israeli passports.
