USD 1500 for evading service in the Armed Forces — Ternopil police officers were exposed to bribery of the branch of the district hospital
The medical worker was detained yesterday, September 29, by the operatives of the Strategic Investigation Department in the Ternopil region and investigators of the Investigative Department of the Regional Police.
As the police established, the head of the department of the district hospital demanded funds from a local resident. For 1500 US dollars, she promised to contribute to the resolution of the issue of evasion of military service in the ranks of the Armed Forces. Namely: registration of documents to recognize a citizen unfit for military service.
The woman was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine immediately after receiving the amount of ill-gotten benefit determined by her. Police seized $1,500 from the place of detention.
The issue of notifying the head of the hospital department about suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 368 (solicitation and receipt by an official of illegal benefits) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and the choice of a precautionary measure is resolved.
The procedural management of the pre-trial investigation is carried out by the Ternopil specialized prosecutor's office in the military and defense sphere.
