The serviceman of the district territorial center of staffing and social support received illegal benefits through an intermediary in several stages.
As established by the operatives of the department of strategic investigations in the Chernihiv region and the investigators of the investigative department of the regional police, $1,200 of illegal profit was demanded by the district military commissioner from a local resident. For this amount, he promised to settle the issue of the non-conscription of her son for military service.
In order to hide the illegal activity, the defendant attracted an intermediary, it was through him that he received funds for his services. The police documented two facts of obtaining illegal benefits of $600 by the military officer.
At the moment, the issue of notifying the officer and his accomplice about suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and the choice of preventive measures.
Procedural guidance in criminal proceedings is carried out by the Chernihiv Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the military and defense sphere.
For extortion and receipt of illegal benefits, the current legislation provides for liability in the form of imprisonment for a period of five to ten years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years, with confiscation of property.
