10 hulls in operation — Ukrainian border guards accompany construction of new boats in France
At the shipbuilding facilities of the OSEA company, there are 10 boat hulls for Ukrainian border guards in the operation of French ships. In France, a group of officers of the Maritime Guard of the State Border Guard Service is in France for specialized support of the construction of boats and acceptance of its stages.
Recall that the first hull of the boat FPB 98 MKI for the Maritime Guard was received by Ukrainian border guards at the end of winter this year.
Currently, five boats are already working on equipment with systems, devices and mechanisms.
It is expected that by the end of this year, the first boat FPB 98 MKI will be launched. And at the beginning of next year, the servicemen of the Maritime Guard of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine will be sent to the OSEA shipbuilding enterprise to learn how to operate and service new boats in general and their separate mechanisms, systems, devices.
Now the formed crews and maintenance groups of boats FPB 98 MKI are being trained on the basis of departmental educational institutions of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
Recall that within the framework of the framework intergovernmental agreement signed in November 2019 by the Ministers of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and France, 20 state-of-the-art patrol boats FPB 98 MKI will be built for the State Border Guard Service.
At the same time, a quarter of the order will be executed by a domestic shipbuilding enterprise using French technologies.
The FPB 98 MKI is a maneuverable patrol boat over 30 meters long made of lightweight aluminum that reaches speeds of up to 30 knots with a cruising range of 1,200 nautical miles with little sediment for swimming in shallow water.
Each boat will be equipped with modern optical and electronic surveillance systems, RIB boats for observation teams of border guards, modern weapons.
The boats will be used in the protection of the state border on the water, to patrol and control the surface situation, and may also be involved in search and rescue operations and counteraction against sabotage and reconnaissance operations.
Recall that in the spring the first boat of the OSEA company for the State Border Guard Service will arrive in Ukraine.
