US $1 million for “solving the issue” with the victory in the competition for the construction of housing for servicemen - the National Police reported the suspicion of the official of the Ministry of Defense and his accomplice
They are accused of preparing to commit fraud committed on a particularly large scale (Part 1 of Article 14, Part 4 of Art. 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The activities of the head of one of the regional departments of capital construction of the Ministry of Defense and his accomplice were exposed by the operatives of the Department of Strategic Investigations in the Odessa region and investigators of the Main Investigative Department of the National Police of Ukraine.
During the searches, investigators and prosecutors seized a number of pieces of evidence, including documents in which the winner was determined in advance.
On July 23, on the basis of the evidence received, both defendants were informed of suspicion under Part 1 of Art. 14, Part 4 of Art. 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. According to the investigation, the suspects intended to receive $1 million from a representative of the company. The United States and “resolve the issue” with a win in the tender, and hence the opportunity to build housing for servicemen and their families.
Currently, the issue of choosing preventive measures is being decided. The sanction of the article provides for punishment — imprisonment from 5 to 12 years with confiscation of property.
