Fifth Charity Tournament “Defender's Cup”

Today, October 16, the fifth charity football tournament “Defender's Cup” in mini-football will be held.

The teams are playing: Military Institute of Telecommunications and Informatization named after Heroes Krut, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Team of Journalists of Ukraine and the Department of Patrol Police of the NPU.


The main goal of the event is the rehabilitation of servicemen who defend our state in the east.

The tournament will be attended by football stars.

Organizers: Ukrainian Football Association, Ukrainian Premier League, Military Institute of Telecommunications and Informatization named after Heroes Krut Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and IA “News Center”.

Reference: Defender's Cup is an annual tournament that brought together military, ATO participants, politicians and journalists to help displaced children from Eastern Ukraine.

On October 22, 2016, the first charity football tournament “Defender's Cup” was held at the Lokomotiv stadium. In the penalty shootout finals, the team of journalists lost to the Dnipro-1 Regiment, which won the Defender's Cup 2016.

On June 24, 2017, the Defender's Super Cup was held between the winner of the Cup of the ATO League — FC Zenit, Zolotonosha and the winner of the Defender's Cup — 2016 Polk Dnipro-1, Dnipro. “Defender's Super Cup” was won by the team from Zolotonosha.

On October 20, 2017, the second football tournament “Defender's Cup — 2017” took place. Six teams participated in the charity tournament. In the final with the minimum score, the team of the “Air Forces” of the Armed Forces defeated FC “Presidential Regiment”.

On December 7, 2018, the third charity football tournament “Defender's Cup — 2018” took place. Four teams participated in the charity tournament. In the final, the team of journalists defeated the team of the Department of Patrol Police.

On December 6, 2019, the fourth charity match “Defender's Cup” in mini-football took place. The fourth charity tournament “Defender's Cup” was attended by teams: the Military Institute of Telecommunications and Informatization named after Heroes Krut, the National Guard of Ukraine, the National Guard of Ukraine, the National Team of Journalists of Ukraine and the Department of Patrol Police. The team of the National Guard of Ukraine became the winner of the “Defender's Cup — 2019”.
