On Friday, October 9, there will be a presentation of the book “Slavyansk. The beginning of the war” with a foreword by the Minister Arsen Avakov of the publishing house “Folio” (m. Kharkiv).

The event will be attended by: the author - director of the Department of Communications of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Artem Shevchenko, director of the publishing house “Folio” Alexander Krasovytsky, servicemen of the NGO (department 3035), policemen of the patrol regiment of the special purpose police “Kyiv”.

The book is a documentary study and a chronicle of the most important episodes of the battle for the city of Slovyansk in Donetsk region, the capture of which by a detachment of Russian militants Hirkin-Strelkov on April 12, 2014 was the beginning of the hybrid armed military aggression of the Russian Federation in the Ukrainian Donbas. The book uses archival photos and interviews with key military-political leaders of Ukraine who made major decisions in those turbulent times. Also in each of the episodes there are memories of the heroes who directly participated in those dramatic, heroic and tragic events.
