Appeal of the Collegium of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to employees and veterans — participants in hostilities in the territory of other states
Dear colleagues and veterans!
The Collegium of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine sincerely congratulates all employees and servicemen, pensioners and veterans of institutions and enterprises belonging to the sphere of management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, central executive bodies, whose activities are directed and coordinated by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine through the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Happy Birthday commemoration of combatants in the territory of other states and the 33rd anniversary of the withdrawal of troops from the Republic of Afghanistan.
The Afghan campaign has left a deep, incurable wound in the hearts of those who took part in the fighting, who lost friends, sons or parents. Therefore, the entire Ukrainian people today pays deep tribute to all without exception soldiers and officers, privates and generals, workers and employees who at different times had to go through the hell of hostilities in the Republic of Afghanistan and in other hot spots of our planet. More than 150,000 Ukrainians took part in the Afghan war, 3,360 of whom died.
Every year history takes us away from those fiery and harsh years of the Afghan war, and the sacred memory of our countrymen's heroism is forever with us. Their courage, devotion to their people are still an example for the current defenders of Ukraine, because they know the true price of war and peace like no other and realize their responsibility for the fate of future generations.
