Appeal of the Chairman of the Ukrainian Association “Chernobyl” of bodies and troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs
Dear Chernobyl brethren! Every year, on December 14, Ukrainian society, caring, grateful Ukrainians honor thousands of participants in the elimination of the consequences of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. This is the day of a great tragedy - the greatest man-made disaster of the twentieth century, the echo of which millions of people feel on themselves today and, unfortunately, will still feel for years. But the heroic feat of the liquidators will never be forgotten!
Especially, and first of all, will not be forgotten the heroism, courage, courage, professionalism, timeliness of the actions of firefighters of specialized units, who, without sparing their lives, stopped the rapid spread of fire on the nuclear power units operating nearby, thereby protecting humanity from the nuclear apocalypse.
Their incredible feat, human sacrifice will forever be an example of dedication, loyalty to the chosen profession to be imitated by all generations of our time.
Eternal glory, eternal honor and human gratitude in the name of the living, in the name of their Fatherland — Ukraine, in the name of the whole civilized world.
In the first hours before the elimination of the consequences of the nuclear disaster, employees of the internal affairs bodies of Ukraine, servicemen of the internal forces, who, together with energy engineers and specialists of various specialties, scientists, servicemen of the Armed Forces, medical workers, rear services joined the round-the-clock work directly in the zone of the Chernobyl disaster.
They acted courageously, professionally and responsibly. Honored to fulfill their official and civic duty.
Honor and glory to them!
On behalf of the Chernobyl liquidators, the families of the deceased, I sincerely thank the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the National Police of Ukraine, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the National Guard of Ukraine, the State Border Service of Ukraine, the State Migration Service of Ukraine, the command, the heads of the structural units of the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, higher educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as to the teams of medical workers, our veteran organizations, with whom we constantly and objectively cooperate, for the care of the liquidators of the consequences of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant and attention to providing them with social support, their pension provision, treatment and recovery.
We will continue to work every day so that Chernobyl veterans, their families, families of the deceased feel care for them, their lives and health and know that we remember the dead and their families.
Such daily care, tangible for every person, is needed especially now, in the difficult times of the brazen, cruel and destructive tragic war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, against the Ukrainian people.
Russian servicemen are barbarians, sadists, pirates, terrorists of the XXI century, persons without a human face! Shame, a lifelong shame to the Russian occupiers.
The Ukrainian people will win! On our side is truth and justice and God's support and God's protection.
It is appropriate today to remind the Kremlin leadership that the Ukrainian people, with strong international and national support, defeated the atomic monster with heroic efforts, stopped the spread of the radiation threat to many countries of Europe and the world and today are able to stop and destroy the aggressor armed to the teeth. We, Ukrainians, want and will live in peace and harmony with all civilized countries of the world.

Christmas and New Year holidays are approaching - Christmas and New Year 2024. I wish you, your families (despite all the adversities of today, bloody destructive war) goodness and happiness, good health and longevity, peace of mind and stable peace, confidence in our prosperous and happy life in the family of European peoples!
Ukraine, our glorious Armed Forces will win the victory over the aggressor country, the terrorist country, the invader, the killer Russia — the heir to the Golden Horde barbarism.
