He did a free operation for 6 thousand dollars: the police exposed the doctor to a bribe
The capital's law enforcement officers exposed the doctor for receiving a bribe. The head of the department demanded money from the relatives of the patient for the operation to remove the tumor and proper medical care after it - 6 thousand dollars.
As the police found out, in August this year, a man went to the medical institution with indications for a planned operation to remove the tumor. After the surgery, the doctor began to require the patient's relative to provide him with $6,000 for medical care and subsequent postoperative treatment.
And he threatened - if the woman does not provide funds, her father will be deprived of qualified medical care.
The official was detained while receiving the specified amount of illegal benefit.
Criminal proceedings are initiated under Part 3 of Art. 368 - acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an illegal benefit by an official of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of five to ten years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years, with confiscation of property.
