Destroyed “Dream”: Ex-Director of State Enterprise “Antonov” was informed of suspicion
Due to the official negligence of the official, the Russian occupiers destroyed the world's largest aircraft AN-225. The amount of damage caused to the state is more than 8.4 billion UAH.
It was established that the former general director of the state-owned enterprise did not ensure the safety of the aircraft: during the air attack of Russian troops on the airport in the village of Gostomel, “Mriya” burned down.
In particular, investigators of the Main Investigative Department of the National Police of Ukraine established that the exhibitor, despite the warnings of state authorities and knowing for certain about the termination of insurance coverage for this aircraft, did not ensure the relocation of the aircraft to a safe place. As a result, in the first days of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, enemy shells of the argesor country destroyed the plane.
Investigators and forensics of the Main Investigation Department with the involvement of experts of the State Research Expert and Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine conducted an inspection of the aircraft, which lasted two weeks, and a number of other investigative actions.
In the course of the investigation, more than 50 witnesses were questioned, documents related to the business activities of SE “Antonov” were seized, including technical documentation of the aircraft. The commission of judicial fire and technical, forensic explosives examination and forensic transport and commodity examination was carried out, which lasted more than half a year due to the lack of similar aircraft in the world.
Also, during the pre-trial investigation, it was established that the AN-225 “Mriya” aircraft on the eve of the Russian military invasion of Ukraine was technically sound, the airfield stored enough aviation fuel for the flight, the crew was ready for departure. All this indicates that there were all possibilities for the evacuation of the aircraft to the airport in the city. Leipzig (Germany). However, the former general director of SE “Antonov” did not give the appropriate order and ignored reports and suggestions of subordinates.
As a result of such negligence of the civil servant of the state enterprise, the state suffered losses of more than 8.4 billion UAH. The investigators informed the defendant about the suspicion of committing the crime provided for in Part 2 of Art.
