Meet our hero - call sign Bata (VIDEO)
Our next hero is a policeman. Ruslan Gurniak with a characteristic call sign - “Batya”. He is a police lieutenant colonel, commander of the Special Purpose Police Division No. 3 of the Special Police Department of the Joint Assault Brigade of the National Police of Ukraine “LUT”.
Ruslan Gurniak received his nickname “Bata” 10 years ago from the fighters for humane treatment of subordinates. The lieutenant colonel is not only a fair commander, but also a senior mentor. Ruslan Gurniak went to war as a volunteer, he has been fighting since 2014.
“My biggest motivation is my children, my grandchildren. You can not sit at home when they are in danger,” says the brave policeman.
After the full-scale Russian invasion, he continued to carry out combat tasks — saving people and defending Ukraine. Ruslan Gurniak and his brothers took part in fierce battles in Luhansk and Donetsk region.
“Our team needs, first of all, patriotic people who are motivated. We need to beat the enemy, defend our land, protect our families in order to live in a normal country called Ukraine,” said Lieutenant Colonel Ruslan Gurniak.
