Ukrainian border guards continue to effectively counteract illegal migration, smuggling of weapons, drugs, illegal movement of goods across the border.
So, recently, at the Mogilev-Podolsky checkpoint, border guards found a 44-year-old citizen of Moldova, who was under international investigation. During the verification of documents, the Interpol database with the request for arrest was activated.
As it turned out, for a number of serious crimes — armed robbery and gang robbery. In particular, the man is wanted by law enforcement agencies in Germany.
In turn, the border guards informed the representatives of the Ukrbureau of Interpol. A citizen of Moldova left the checkpoint accompanied by National Police officers.
But at the checkpoint “Ustylug” border guards of the Volyn detachment together with customs officers discovered counterfeit goods — meat products, electrical appliances, batteries for vapes, cosmetics, etc.
The 42-year-old from Volyn hid the crash in the car's stash, made between the blades of the laffeta using plywood and metal profiles.
In addition, in the luggage compartment of the minibus, inspectors found undeclared goods - more than 70 kilograms of shampoos, conditioners, moisturizing masks and other hair care products.
In total, the man tried to import from abroad more than half a ton of smuggled goods worth almost 2 million hryvnias.
The cramp, as well as the trailer-platform in which the cache was equipped, were seized by customs officers.
In total, over the past day, 74 thousand people and 18 thousand vehicles crossed the western borders of Ukraine with the EU and Moldova (in the Chernivtsi region).
36 thousand people left Ukraine last day. 21 thousand of them crossed the border with Poland, the rest followed to other EU countries and Moldova.
Over the past day, 38 thousand people followed Ukraine, 34 thousand of them are citizens of Ukraine.
There are also 90 trucks with humanitarian aid.
