Half a thousand inhabitants still live in the village. For the most part, people are in basements and bomb shelters without electricity or water. In the walls of one of them now live about a hundred citizens, there are children. Police officers help people. Humanitarian aid is organized by representatives of the village council and volunteers.

Velyka Novosilka village turned into ruins after the Russian military invasion of Ukraine. Buildings, educational institutions, sports grounds and infrastructure of the village were destroyed. People's lives are destroyed: the mass shelling of the enemy does not subside. Law enforcement officers monitor the operational situation and deliver humanitarian aid in moments of calm.

In the conditions of war, police departments No. 1 (Velyka Novosilka) and Volnovsky regional police department continue to serve here. A group of police officers constantly drives around the service area, documenting the facts of looting and war crimes of the Russian Federation.

The situation is extremely difficult, it is dangerous to get to the settlement.

This time it was possible to break into the village with a humanitarian cargo early in the morning. Products were handed over by representatives of the village council and volunteers.

“In times of war, the community and the police work together. We deliver grocery kits and bread to bomb shelters. In total, we distributed 3700 such kits to the residents of the community,” - the first deputy of the Velikonovosilkivsk village head Margarita Kharitonova.

Police distributed food to citizens forced to live in bomb shelters. One of the women said that she has been living here since March 5. Her house is destroyed. “But even in those that have survived, people do not live - it is dangerous,” says the resident.

The shelter currently houses about a hundred people, there are children and people with disabilities. Also, law enforcement officers deliver food kits and medicines to the address.

Police and local authorities have advised residents to evacuate, but people refuse to leave their homes, even though they are destroyed.
