Women in the units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are an increase in trust from the population, - Kateryna Pavlichenko
Today, more than 66 thousand women work and serve in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This was stated on the air of the “Unified News” tele-marathon by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Ekaterina Pavlichenko.
“For several years in a row, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has been implementing a gender approach, providing equal rights and opportunities for women and men during service. Thanks to this, more than 66 thousand women work and serve in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs today. Women are represented in different positions, in different directions. Women in service is about balancing the unit and increasing trust from the population. Therefore, we continue to work in this direction and we can be proud of those women and girls who work in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs”, - said Kateryna Pavlichenko.
She also added that women, in particular, are part of specialized police mobile groups to detect sexual crimes committed by Russian occupiers.
“During Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, more than 50 statements and reports of sexual violence committed by Russian occupiers have been received. Investigators of the National Police have already opened 21 criminal proceedings on the fact of committing sexual crimes by the Russian occupiers. At the beginning of the war, we created specialized police mobile groups to detect the facts of sexual violence. They work in the de-occupied territories, these are Kyiv region, Sumy region, Chernihiv region. Most of such crimes are documented by such groups,” said Ekaterina Pavlichenko.
