UAH 35 million in losses: in Kyiv, the director of the contractor will be tried for the supply of military uniforms
In Kiev, the director of the contractor for the supply of military uniforms with losses of 35 million hryvnias will appear before the court.
In August of this year, law enforcement officials established that with the winner of public procurement, military personnel entered into three direct contracts. According to them, the contractor had to supply uniforms for a total amount of more than UAH 35 million. This has been done and all calculations have been made.
However, during laboratory studies, experts found that this military uniform does not meet the technical requirements of the Defense Department and cannot be used for its intended purpose.
Law enforcement officers conducted a number of investigative actions, including searches of the place of residence of the defendants, their vehicles, office and production premises of the contracting organization. In order to compensate for the damage caused, the temporarily seized property was arrested.
The director of the sewing factory was informed of the suspicion under Part 5 of Art. 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - appropriation, squandering of property or possession of it by abuse of official position.
The materials of the criminal proceedings together with the indictment are sent to the court for consideration of the case on the merits. The accused may face up to twelve years in prison with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years and with confiscation of property.
