Statement by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrskyi
Dear citizens. The second month of the war is over. The team of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine acts as a single fist of security and protection of our state. More than 54,000 police officers are currently serving in areas of active hostilities. Law enforcement officers of Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk and Kharkiv regions bring civilians out of shelling into extremely dangerous living conditions. There is a new terrible phenomenon — war crimes. Police investigators have launched about eight thousand criminal proceedings for crimes committed by Russian and Belarusian military. Anti-sabotage groups of the National Police identified 85 sabotage and intelligence groups and detained 659 people. The National Guard of Ukraine in the conditions of war acts as a universal soldier.
Together with our valiant Armed Forces, the guards beat the enemy on the front line, heroically holds the defense of Mariupol and writes the latest page of the military history of Ukraine, a separate detachment of the special purpose of the National Guard “Azov”. As part of the Heroic Defense Forces of Mariupol, the personnel of the state border service and the National Police are also fighting bravely. The remaining personnel of the guards guard about six hundred critical infrastructure facilities, serve together with police officers at checkpoints, detect and detain saboteurs, and ensure public order.
Our border guards were the first to accept a fight with an enemy who violated our state border. As part of the restoration of control over the state border in the Kiev, Chernihiv and Sumy regions liberated from the occupiers, our border guards went to their areas of responsibility. At the western border, they provide a simplified regime of entry and exit of citizens with EU countries and the Republic of Moldova. During the war, 3 million 640 thousand people left Ukraine, and 1 million 130 thousand returned, about 31 thousand cars of humanitarian aid were imported into the country.
Our rescuers have already become stars and legends of the National Telemarathon and worldwide social networks. The guys saved more than 1,200 people from under the rubble. They defused more than 70,000 munitions, including more than 2,000 aerial bombs. Surveyed about 12 thousand hectares of territories. In cooperation with the authorities and volunteers from the areas of active hostilities, almost 300,000 peaceful Ukrainian citizens were evacuated through humanitarian corridors. Most of them are children, women and the elderly.
Cyber police blocked 2 thousand hostile online resources with a total of 17 million users. The State Migration Service has set up a platform to combat and prevent trafficking in human beings to protect our refugees abroad. Service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine provide almost the entire list of administrative services at the prewar level in those regions where the military situation is relatively calm. This is only part of the good deeds and heroic deeds of our great team of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
I thank the personnel of all bodies and units of the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. Eternal memory and glory to our fallen colleagues. Hundreds of policemen, guards, border guards and rescuers have been awarded high state awards.
Thank you to the volunteers who volunteered for the rescuers and help to disassemble the destroyed buildings in the liberated settlements. Thank you to those who help document the war crimes of the Russian occupiers.
