7 more fugitives are detained thanks to the joint border operation “West-2023”
Last day, the border guards of the Chernivtsi detachment together with the cadets of the Ministry of Internal Affairs stopped 4 cases of border violations and detained 7 Ukrainian citizens who tried to illegally enter Romania and Moldova.
In Chernivtsi and Transcarpathian regions, the joint special border operation “West-2023” continues, which is aimed at strengthening the protection of the state border.
In particular, the border outfit of the Krasnoilsk department together with the cadets of the Ministry of Internal Affairs stopped the car at one of the checkpoints in the border. During the inspection of a passenger car that was moving to the border, 4 residents of the Chernivtsi region were found who could not explain the purpose of arriving at the controlled border area. All the men were conscripts, ranging in age from 33 to 36 years old.
Subsequently, under similar circumstances, the joint outfit detained a 29-year-old resident of the Kherson region, who also planned to illegally enter Romania, for which he arrived at the border.
In addition, border guards of the border department of the border service “Kelmentsy” together with future policemen detained a 41-year-old resident of the Kiev region and a 31-year-old Chernivtsi resident who were planning to illegally cross the Ukrainian-Moldovan border.
Recall that the joint special border operation “West-2023” was organized on the initiative of the State Border Guard Service in order to counteract the intensification of illegal activities at the state border and improve operational and service activities. The special operation is carried out by Mukachevo, Chop and Chernivtsi border detachments in cooperation with employees of the National Guard of Ukraine, units of the National Police and Security Service of Ukraine, territorial units of staffing and social support, state authorities and local self-government with active involvement of departmental pilot of unmanned and unmanned aviation. Cadets of universities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are also involved in the events.
