Detained offender who paid 3 thousand dollars for extreme border crossing
A 55-year-old man who was illegally going to enter the EU together with the forwarder was stopped in Transcarpathia near the Ukrainian-Hungarian border by border guards of the “Vlok” department of the Mukachevo detachment due to the information provided in advance by the operatives about the possible violation of our borders.
The dispatcher, a resident of Transcarpathia, armed with a night vision device, intended together with a “client”, a resident of Kharkiv region, to bypass the border outfits. And then - also indicate to the fugitive the place where he had to illegally cross into the territory of a neighboring state.
Since in the proposed place the border passes through the Tisa channel, the Transcarpathian provided the Kharkiv resident with a wetsuit, so that he did not see how dangerous the idea of overcoming a fast, cold and full-flowing river was, and did not refuse to cross it. He assured that in order to avoid unwanted meeting with border outfits, it is necessary to cross the state border in the dark. The forwarder estimated his services at 3 thousand US dollars.
However, 600 meters from the border, the intruders were detained.
Administrative protocols have been drawn up for offenders for attempting to illegally cross the border. In addition, the border guards sent a message to the National Police about the detection in the actions of the Transcarpathian citizen of the crime stipulated by Article 332 of the Criminal Code “Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine”.
