Deputy Minister of the Interior Bohdan Drapiaty took part in the meeting of the sectoral working group “Humanitarian demining”
One of the key issues of discussion was the draft National Strategy for Mine Action for the period up to 2033 and the Operational Plan for its implementation in 2024-2026. The meeting was chaired by First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko and co-chaired by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Matsuda Kuninori, Humanitarian Coordinator of the UN System in Ukraine Ms. Denise Brown.
“We are proud of the SNS sappers, the National Police and the National Guard, who daily clean the Ukrainian soil of explosive objects. We thank the international partners for their systematic and comprehensive assistance,” said Bohdan Drap'yaty.
During the meeting, the parties confirmed further priorities for cooperation with international partners, namely:
Strengthening the capacity of practical demining units through the involvement of material and technical assistance. Development and implementation of innovative products. Coordination of forces and means with a clear definition of priorities
for demining contaminated lands.
