Deputy Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Bohdan Drapyaty took part in the conference on humanitarian demining
On the instructions of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko, Bohdan Drapyaty joined the International Donor Conference on Humanitarian Drainage in Zagreb, Croatia.
“Representatives of more than 40 countries and international organizations with their active participation and principled position have shown solidarity with the Ukrainian people, who heroically defend the sovereignty and independence of Ukraine and the interests of the democratic world from the terrorist state of Russia,” Bohdan Drapyaty noted.
Thus, during the conference, a number of countries announced new assistance to Ukraine:
- Croatian Prime Minister Andrey Plenkovic — €5 million;
- Minister of Foreign Affairs of the European Union and Cooperation of Spain José Manuel Alvarez — €1.5 million;
- The Swiss government will allocate more than €100 million over the next four years;
- Norway — about €20 million;
- Slovenia allocates an additional €500 thousand. The country plans to provide additional payments next year;
- Slovakia hopes to raise €1.5 million through public sector involvement and fundraising;
- The Federal Government of Austria has decided to provide €2 million;
- Sweden has announced that it will allocate an additional €12.5 million over the next three years.
It is known that these funds will be aimed at strengthening the capabilities of the security and defense forces of Ukraine to carry out better, safer and relatively fast demining of the territories of Ukraine.
“During the foreign business trip, we held meaningful bilateral and multilateral meetings with partners. There is an understanding that the security of Ukraine is the security of the civilized world! The Government of Croatia has made a significant contribution to strengthening the consolidation and effectiveness of the international coalition on humanitarian demining of Ukraine,” the Deputy Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine summed up.
