The meeting of the Ministers of Internal Affairs and Security of the “G7” took place in Japan. The issues of support for Ukraine were included in a separate discussion session. The Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine took part in the meeting in online format. The issues of partnership and security projects within the state were discussed.

At the beginning of the talks, Igor Klymenko thanked the partners for their continued assistance and noted that Ukraine has been resisting Russia's full-scale armed aggression for more than 21 months. During this time, police investigators recorded more than 102 thousand war crimes of the Russian Federation.

“On average, it's 160 every day. Among them are shelling, executions of civilians, bullying of civilians, sexual violence, illegal deportation, kidnapping, illegal imprisonment. Because of Russian armed aggression, there is no completely safe place in Ukraine. After all, Russia is resorting to the terror of the civilian population through massive shelling. Missiles of various modifications and drones fly on the heads of our people, destroying critical and civilian infrastructure. They especially target the energy system, so we have a plan of measures in case of blackouts,” Minister Klimenko stressed in his speech.

Among other things, more than 13,000 “Inviolability Points” have been created, where citizens can charge gadgets, warm up and get help. More than 2 thousand of them work on the basis of the State Emergency Service and the police. Also, constant monitoring of the state of civil protection objects is carried out.

In turn, the National Police of Ukraine constantly fills the special base “War Criminal”, where the data of all identified persons participating in the military aggression of the Russian Federation against our country are entered. Currently, there are more than 240,000 records in this registry.

“We shared the collected information with our partners through Europol, Interpol channels, and we also exchange data on requests from individual countries. We are convinced that every person who committed crimes against the Ukrainian people should be punished fairly. And in any civilized country, these war criminals will not have a quiet life,” the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted.

Also Igor Klymenko spoke about the large-scale work of specialists of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the de-occupied territories. We are talking, in particular, about stabilization measures. They are conducted by the National Police and the National Guard in cooperation with the SBU.

Despite the ongoing war, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine already cares about the future safe environment and stability within the country.

The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko said that at the moment the department pays special attention to the issue of monitoring the current security situation in the country, responding to offenses and emergency situations, because the security situation in the future depends on it.

In particular, the Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs informed partners about the control of arms circulation in the country through the launch of the Unified Register:

“In the country, the war, respectively, weapons, explosives, ammunition in illegal circulation is increasing. But we keep under control any cases of illegal use of weapons and ammunition on the territory of our state. We also take action and provide a record of weapons issued at the beginning of the invasion. In particular, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has developed and submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a draft that will improve the procedure for obtaining, declaring and handling firearms. We also support the issue of legislative regulation of the circulation of civilian firearms.”

Igor Klymenko stressed that at present our international partners confirm the absence of weapons smuggling outside Ukraine.

Also, the Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine briefed the Ministers of Internal Affairs and Security of the Group of Seven on the security situation at the state border, the development of the network of points of inviolability and security centers, as well as on measures to prevent and respond to domestic violence.

Separately, the Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine focused on the issue of humanitarian demining. He told the partners that more than 30% of the territory of our country is currently potentially dangerous in terms of mine safety.

“Now our specialists are conducting combat and operational demining. Every day we have more than 200 sapper calculations - this is more than 1100 people, about 350 units of equipment,” he said.

According to Igor Klymenko, more than 1600 square kilometers have been surveyed, but even after clearing the territory, it is not completely safe. The enemy is re-shelling most of the de-occupied regions, thus making them dangerous again.

That is why, in order to solve this problem, Ukraine needs the help of international partners, in particular in the issue of providing mechanized mining machines.

“We are doing everything we can, and in some places more, to ensure the safety of citizens. And we are grateful to our strategic partners for the fact that we are not alone in such a difficult time,” said the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko.
