Odessa police, together with Moldovan law enforcement officers, conducted a special operation to detain the customer of the murder of two people.
In September of this year, Ukrainian operatives received information from their counterparts in the Republic of Moldova on preparations for a custom-made killing. The foreigner was looking for a killer who liquidates a citizen of Ukraine for $15,000.
Within a few days, law enforcement officers identified potential victims and the killer. In addition, the motives and future plans of the customer were established. As it turned out, the foreigner wanted to take over the Ukrainian's business. Therefore, after the elimination of the husband, the killer had to kill his wife.
Before the war, the customer rented the premises in which the dental clinic is currently located. After February 24, 2022, he left Ukraine and stopped paying rent, accordingly, the landlord entered into an agreement with a new client.
In addition, in the course of operational-investigative measures, law enforcement officers learned about the further criminal plans of the defendant. After the liquidation of the spouses, the next victim was to be the customer's compatriot.
Keeler went to cooperate with law enforcement officers and under their control conducted all negotiations with the defendant. As an advance received 5 thousand dollars. Another 10 thousand had to be sent after providing evidence of the murder of the owner of the clinic. He transferred the money through intermediaries: they left it in the place indicated by the defendant. After that, the “killer” received a message with coordinates.
With the assistance of Interpol and Europol, Ukrainian and Moldovan colleagues were in constant contact. In order to save the lives of the victims, Ukrainian law enforcement officers staged the abduction and murder of the dentist, and so the customer received a photo confirmation and transferred the money.
In Odessa, law enforcement officers detained the customer of the crime - a citizen of another country.
The defendant was informed of suspicion under Part 1 of Art. 14, Clause 11, Part 2 of Art. 115 (Intentional murder on order) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The question of choosing a precautionary measure is being resolved. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment from 10 to 15 years or life imprisonment.
