This was reported in the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police today, August 13.

Police officers continue systematic measures to expose criminal schemes for the sale of military ammunition and humanitarian aid and their organizers who are trying to profit from the war. According to the results of their implementation, the operatives of the Directorate of Strategic Investigations in Khmelnytsky region and investigators of the Investigative Department of the Regional Police exposed a local resident engaged in international cargo transportation.

Under the guise of humanitarian aid for the needs of the army, the defendant brought military ammunition, other necessities and zero-clearance vehicles, but instead of sending them to the front, he sold them.

On August 12, operatives and investigators detained the organizer during the sale of two cars for $3,600. He also received a deposit for the purchase of a batch of cars for 280 thousand UAH. Earlier it was documented the sale of armor vests of the 5th class by the defendant with the results. However, according to the conclusion of an expert study, the declared class does not meet the technical requirements.

It is currently known about the importation under the guise of rubber assistance and the sale of six cars for $12,000.

In order to identify illegally obtained humanitarian aid, law enforcement officers conducted five searches. Three vehicles, vehicle components, helmets, unloading and plates for body armor, medical supplies, household chemicals and hygiene products were seized.

The issue of notifying the detainee of suspicion is being resolved. Measures are being taken to identify and bring to justice persons who may be involved in the established “scheme”.

Criminal proceedings under the procedural direction of the Khmelnytsky Regional Prosecutor's Office are investigated on the fact of illegal use for the purpose of obtaining profit of humanitarian aid, charitable donations or gratuitous assistance (Article 201-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Exposure and documentation activities were carried out jointly with the staff of the USBU in Khmelnytsky region.
