The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko spoke about the interaction of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with the Security Service of Ukraine and the Office of the Prosecutor General during an interview in the “United News” telethon.

“The overwhelming number of war crimes committed by the Russian occupiers against civilians are shootings, destruction of infrastructure, death of our citizens as a result of shelling, in particular by artillery or aircraft. Everything related to the death of people or the destruction of infrastructure is all war crimes,” Igor Klymenko said during the interview.

Also, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine said that since the first days of the full-scale war, employees of the National Police of Ukraine have been recording war crimes of Russians together with colleagues from the Security Service of Ukraine.

“Units of the National Police are located throughout the territory of our state. Additional security forces operate in the area that is close to the front. So we have more mobility to document war crimes and more people to do so. Any attack or shelling is recorded by our investigators and forensics,” the Interior Minister stressed.

70% of war crimes recorded by police officers are transferred to the Security Service of Ukraine and the Office of the Prosecutor General. Then the cases go to the International Criminal Court. Igor Klymenko noted that the whole process takes place quickly and efficiently.

“The war crimes committed by the Russian military in Bucha or Gostomel were documented by our police officers. In particular, the individuals and units where they served were established. These materials are already in international courts,” Igor Klymenko said during the interview.
