Component supply channel for kamikaze drones from EU to Russia blocked - National Police
As a result of an international operation, investigators of the National Police of Ukraine have liquidated the supply channel for “kamikaze drones” from the European Union to Russia. During the pre-trial investigation, the police received in good condition two drones, which the Russians use for shelling Ukraine. These are Shahed-136 and Mohajer-6.
The drones were decomposed into components and installed by a number of manufacturers of high-tech products, control units and chips from the European Union and the United States. It was their products that got into Russia for the production of strike drones in defiance of established sanctions and restrictions.
All information collected through a liaison officer from Ukraine in Europol was directed to the competent law enforcement agencies of the European Union countries. The Financial Crimes Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of the Kingdom of the Netherlands was the first to respond to this request, launching the international operation “Drake” on the basis of the received materials.
A complex of investigative and investigative actions was carried out on the territory of Ukraine and the Netherlands. According to their results, indisputable evidence was collected regarding a Russian entrepreneur who permanently resides in the Netherlands, and over the past seven months, bypassing sanctions, supplies chips to the territory of the Russian Federation for the needs of the armed forces and defense complex of the aggressor country.
In order to disguise his illegal activities, the businessman used fictitious firms registered in the Maldives. Based on the evidence collected, the Rotterdam City Court sentenced the defendant to one and a half years in prison and a 200,000 euro fine.
As a result, the channel of entry into the territory of the Russian Federation of critical components for the military-industrial complex for the shelling of Ukraine was blocked.
