The First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine told about the fight against DRG and collaborators, the state of crime in the country and the first results of the special operation “Active”, the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine on the live broadcast of the all-Ukrainian tele-marathon #Uaразом.

As Yevgeny Yenin noted, in the first months of the war there was a sharp decrease in the crime rate. The situation was influenced by the organization of the work of checkpoints and the introduction of a curfew. However, to date, law enforcement officers record a significant increase in offenses, in particular, related to the illegal handling of weapons and the possession of vehicles. At the same time, most of the facts of theft concern statements from citizens who lost their cars due to the temporary occupation of Ukrainian territories.

“What has significantly changed the landscape of the situation in our country is the activities of the DRG, which are a natural integral component of the war. Over the past week, the officers of the Department of Strategic Investigations and Criminal Investigation have exposed two DRGs and detained about 50 people, 5 of them in Kyiv who may be involved in cooperation with the enemy. That is, the activity of the DRG is somewhat reduced, perhaps its nature is changing, but it definitely does not disappear, so citizens do not have time to lose vigilance,” the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine said.

In addition, preventive measures are being carried out and the borders of Ukraine with Belarus are especially closely monitored in Volyn, Rivne, Zhytomyr, Kiev and Chernihiv regions. In the border areas there are more than a hundred checkpoints, where it is most often possible to identify suspicious persons.

“We are examining the contents of luggage, personal belongings and phones of suspicious persons. According to the results of the exercise, 8 people were detained and 31 were transferred to the Security Service of Ukraine for further inspection. If we talk about the country as a whole, then usually in a week our law enforcement officers check from 10 to 20 thousand people. During such checks, hundreds of suspicious persons are identified who may be involved in cooperation with the enemy,” Yevgeny Yenin said.

To date, about 800 criminal proceedings under Art. 111-1 (collaborative activity) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine have already been registered, more than 150 persons have been notified of suspicion and 75 criminal proceedings have been sent to court.

Yevhenii Yenin also added that since the beginning of the aggression, the relevant units of the NPU began the implementation of the operation “Active”, within which relevant recommendations were developed and directed to the NBU in order to significantly strengthen the control over the withdrawal of foreign currency funds abroad of Ukraine.

“Such work gives its result, because today about 7,000 Ukrainian enterprises are under increased control, which over the past few years have cooperated with partners from the Republic of Belarus or the Russian Federation. The export abroad of about 200 billion hryvnias is biased. Likewise, we look quite closely at the payment of taxes, since many evade that our defense capacity does not increase. It is on this focus that the activities of the NPU bodies in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies are directed,” the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine emphasized.
