Over the past month, 190 people died in the water, including 23 children. And in 2023, this figure reached 622 people.
The number of deaths in water bodies is only increasing. Yesterday, August 1, the rescuers of the State Emergency Service on the Dniester River in the Khmelnytsky region rescued a man. Patrolling the Dniester, near the village. Velyka Slobidka of Kamianets-Podilskyi district in the middle of the reservoir noticed a drowning man. Without wasting time, emergency responders on a motorboat quickly provided assistance, transporting a 62-year-old man to shore.
But in the Dnipropetrovsk region, bathing ended tragically. On August 1, the Rescue Service “101” received a message from law enforcement officers that a human body was found in the village of Sholokhovo Pokrovsky urban territorial community of Nikopol district, on the surface of the Bazavluk river.
Upon arrival at the scene, with the help of a rubber boat, rescuers retrieved the body of the dead man, which was in the water 20 meters from the shore.
He was transported to land and handed over to National Police officers.
Rescuers emphasize to be careful on the water:
- bathe in places where there are rescue posts, - choose favorable conditions and weather, - watch over children, their bathing should be under the strict
gaze of adults.
Rest on the water is allowed only in specially designated places designated by local authorities and equipped for this purpose. It is safer to rest on the water in the light part of the day. Swimming is allowed in calm windless weather at a water temperature of at least +18°C, air not lower than +24°C.
The main cause of death of people on the water is fear. In most cases, people who can swim drown, and confidently swim far from the shore. There they can get into a stream of cold water. Then he begins to lower his legs and grabs the snag. In this situation, the main thing is not to be afraid. It is necessary to plunge into the water and strongly pull the foot on yourself by the thumb.
