During the 10 weeks of Russia's war against Ukraine, the investigators of the National Police launched more than 10,000 criminal proceedings on the facts of war crimes committed by the Russian occupiers - Igor Klymenko
In total, during the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, the National Police received and processed almost 1 million 900 thousand citizen reports. The number of reports of criminal offenses decreased by one and a half times compared to the same period last year. This was announced today, May 5, by the head of the National Police of Ukraine Igor Klymenko.
According to him, employees of the National Police of Ukraine are on duty around the clock. Special forces carry out combat tasks together with the military in hot spots of the country. The operatives are clearly working out the criminality, and investigators and forensics continue to collect evidence of the brutal crimes of the Russian military.
In the areas of hostilities, police help local people evacuate and support those who remain and need special attention.
“As of today, just over 36,000 crimes have been registered on citizens' appeals. The focus of attention of law enforcement officers are property crimes committed under martial law. Currently, more than 6,500 of them have been recorded, of which more than 5,900 are thefts. Nearly 1,700 people involved in thefts, robberies and robberies have the status of suspects. For comparison, last year during this period we registered more than 21 thousand property crimes, 20 thousand of which were due to theft,” the head of the department said. Also Igor Klymenko said that work is ongoing to identify enemy agents and occupiers' assistants:
“Thanks to vigilance and high-quality operational work, the National Police of Ukraine detained more than 750 suspected saboteurs. Also, police investigators have launched more than 480 criminal proceedings for collaboration, more than 70 people have already received reports of suspicion of cooperation with the enemy. And behind each figure is its own history of betrayal of the native country, which cannot be understood and accepted. Our struggle continues. And every day brings us closer to the indispensable Victory of the united Ukraine! We will stand. Necessarily.”
