Detected and neutralized 75,000 munitions and about 2,000 aerial bombs. More than 13,000 hectares of the country's territory have been surveyed and cleared — almost 20,000 football fields,” Yevgeny Yenin said.
In addition, units of the Explosive Service of the National Police, during the demining activities of the Kiev region, defused almost 5 thousand items that carry death.
“The enemy is literally planting mines in the cities once occupied by him. This is due to the relative cheapness, simplicity and efficiency of application and because they can cause significant loss of vitality. Uncontrollable mine barriers and stretch grenades are left behind even in apartments and houses. First of all, these mines bring death to the civilian population. But, peaceful citizens for the Russian troops are also a target,” said the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
Yevgeny Yenin stressed that the maximum possible number of fire technicians of the State Emergency Service is involved every day to mine large areas of territories and objects contaminated with explosive objects.
“In order to speed up the clearance of settlements and territories from deadly objects, questions are being worked on the involvement of demining specialists from the Danish Refugee Council, the UN, the non-governmental British-American charitable organization (“HALO Trust”), MAG and other international and non-governmental organizations,” - inform he did.
