Since the beginning of the year, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine have seized and destroyed more than one and a half thousand explosive objects
Pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine carry out daily work to survey the territory of the country, identify, seize and destroy explosive objects from past wars. During the last day alone, January 24, 10 sorties were made, during which 12 munitions were found.
For example, in the Luhansk region the other day a message was received from the residents of Borovske village, Severodonetsk district, to the Rescue Service “101” that they found a probably explosive object near the lake. People did not have exact coordinates, so the dispatcher advised applicants to use the application on the phone “what3words”. And soon, citizens already reported on “101” three words that characterized their location with an accuracy of 3 meters. Immediately, the fire brigade of the CIS arrived at the scene and determined that the find was an F-1 hand grenade of the second category of the Second World War. Due to the condition of the grenade, it could not be transported, so the pyrotechnics destroyed the GNP on the spot.
In addition, work is underway on the demining of the liberated territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Thus, on January 24, units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the territory of Donetsk region, where the PLO is conducted, surveyed 1.36 hectares of territory and identified and removed 3 VNPs.
During the past day, January 24, pyrotechnic calculations of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Luhansk region surveyed 0.31 hectares of the area in Severodonetsk and Shchastin districts, where 80 explosive objects were detected and seized, namely: 34 mortar mines, 45 grenades, 1 detonator caustic substance.
In total, since the beginning of the year, the pyrotechnic units of the SNS have seized and destroyed 1 thousand 663 explosive objects, including 4 aerial bombs.
Therefore, in order to prevent accidents among the population in case of detection of explosive objects, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine once again appeals to citizens to observe the rules of safe handling of explosive or unknown objects!
It is strictly forbidden:
- touch a suspicious object or move it; - fill it with liquids, cover it with soil or cover it with something;
- exert sound, light, thermal or mechanical effects on a suspicious object, because almost all explosives are sensitive to mechanical, sound
- impacts and heating; - try to neutralize on their own find.
Remember that in case of detection of explosive objects, it is necessary to immediately report this at the number “101” or “102” and in no case try to independently identify the found ammunition.
