Emergency rescue workers are almost daily involved in the rescue of people in the water bodies of the country. So, since the beginning of the year, 78 people have been rescued on the water, 10 of which are children. At the same time, 66 people were killed, six of them children.
So, in the Cherkasy region on February 20, rescuers received information that in the water area of the river. Dnipro in the area of the village. At a distance of 200 m from the coast, an ice sheet with 8 fishermen broke off in Zhovnino, Zolotonisky district. Emergency responders, a police water patrol arrived at the scene, local fishermen were involved. Soon, people were removed from the ice by local fishermen and, accompanied by emergency personnel, brought to shore. Medical assistance to the rescued was not required.
In the Sumy region yesterday, February 20, on the river. Akhtyrka in m. Okhtyrka emergency workers rescued a person born in 1967, who, due to their own negligence, fell under the ice. The rescued person was taken to the intensive care unit of the Akhtyrsk Central District Hospital.
At the same time in Luhansk region on the river. Aydar in the village of Novopskov, Starobilsky district, specialists of the Rescue Service rescued two teenagers of 2008 and 2006 who were crossing the river on a suspension bridge and it broke under them.

- it is necessary to cross reservoirs in specially designated and equipped places for this;
- it is forbidden to ski from a steep bank to ice untested for strength and thickness;
- it is forbidden to gather in a crisis in large groups in one place;
- you can not go out on the ice: at the junction of rivers; in case of rapid flow of the river in this place; in the presence of boards, sticks and other objects frozen in the ice; in case of different colors of ice; during a strong temperature drop and warming;
- do not consume alcoholic beverages near water bodies;
- keep an eye on the leisure of children and explain to them the danger of thin ice.
