This was reported by the Commissioner for Missing Persons under Special Circumstances, Arthur Dobroserdov during an interview on the air of the Public. The official told how many missing persons are currently in the Register and what category of children is most often found in it.
With regard to the Unified Register of Persons Missing in Special Circumstances, it is an electronic database designed to store, protect, process, use and disseminate information about persons missing in special circumstances, their unidentified remains, the presence or absence of a court decision on the recognition of persons missing, missing names or declarations of the deceased, as well as other data used to keep records of missing persons for the purpose of their search.
“Currently, the Unified Register of Persons Missing Under Special Circumstances has been entered into the Unified Register of Persons Missing Under Special Circumstances. These are military, civilians, as well as 2,124 children,” said the Commissioner for Missing Persons under special circumstances.
When asked which categories of children are most often found in the Register and are considered missing, he replied that this applies to so-called status children, that is, orphans, children deprived of parental care, children who before the full-scale invasion lived in boarding schools, in family-type orphanages, etc.
It is worth noting, the Commissioner stressed that missing persons and deportees are not identical concepts.
“Resolving issues of protection of the rights of forcibly displaced (deported) persons is within the competence of the Ministry for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine,” Artur Dobroserdov stressed.
