UNICEF and children's pet Pes Patron sign a memorandum of cooperation for World Children's Day
On the occasion of the World Children's Day, the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) and representatives of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine with the participation of Psa Patron signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. The document deepens the cooperation of the foundation and the famous dog in supporting the mental health of children and popularizing the theme of mining education and safety.
Under the Memorandum, the parties will cooperate by informing Ukrainians about the risks of explosive objects, reducing the risks of emergencies due to war, support for mental health and psychosocial support for children, adolescents, youth, their carers and educators.
In addition to the agreements, Pes Patron received the title of “Dog of Goodwill” from UNICEF in Ukraine. After all, he is a true friend of children in Ukraine, who not only protects them from mines, but also helps to maintain the mental health of children.
“There is no child in Ukraine who does not know about Patron Dog. Patron has won the trust and hearts of all Ukrainians, and together with UNICEF Patron will promote extremely important things for Ukrainian society, such as mining education and mental health. Thanks to its owners, Cartridge knows everything about explosive objects and mined fields and places like no other, and is constantly involved in mine clearance activities. He also knows how to cheer up, sincerely sympathize, and comfort with a sense of humor. Observing and communicating with him helps not only the little ones, but also adults to overcome stress and raise their spirits,” said Murat Shakhin, head of the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Ukraine.
With the animated, interactive, unobtrusive and accessible format for children, the Dog Cartridge will help to convey to children the most important things about mental health and mine safety. All in order to alleviate the impact of war, active hostilities and restrictions on communication with peers on the mental health of children, as well as to prevent dangerous situations associated with explosive remnants of war.
As part of the cooperation, the development in augmented reality (AR) technology has already been launched - a mask on Instagram with Patron Dog. This is part of the Together to Learn campaign to support children learning at home. Dog Patron will become an assistant for children and adolescents, who will give tips and tricks daily in training.
